Managing Stress

Stress is something that any functioning person will likely deal with throughout their lifetime. While there are disorders related to it, such as anxiety and depression, that require a diagnosis, stress does not require a diagnosis from a medical professional. Usually, when people discuss treatments for stress, it is regarding more natural ways to relieve stress, such as meditation, exercise, and journaling. Besides those common stress relief tactics, other common ones include aromatherapy, reducing caffeine intake, chewing gum, surrounding yourself with friends and family, yoga, and music. However, there has also been research arising lately into the idea of relieving stress with supplements. CBD oil, being classified as a lawful, healthy medication, could fall into this category.

Using CBD Oil to Manage Stress

Even though it does not require a medical diagnosis, stress is still a serious issue for a lot of people. When left untreated, it can cause dangerous health conditions, like high blood pressure, heart palpitations, skin irritations, loss of sleep, headaches, and chest pains. These are all the mild versions of what prolonged, untreated stress can cause, as these can get more serious. Chronic stress over a long period of time can also cause weight gain, fatigue, depression, heart disease, weakened immune system, muscle tension, digestive issues, and anxiety disorder. Using CBD oil to combat stress symptoms could directly improve health. Successful research confirms that CBD oil is effective at helping the symptoms of stress.

CBD oil can be taken daily to reduce stress. Studies show that CBD may have an influence on how the brain responds to serotonin, which plays a key role in mood. Studies show that only single doses are needed to treat stress and anxiety. Therefore, instead of needing to take CBD oil daily, it appears that single dosages of 300-600 milligrams of CBD when stress levels begin to rise would suffice. It may be necessary to start with a smaller dosage and work up to this amount if the consumer has never taken cannabinoids before. Most research agreed that 600 milligrams a day is a safe and tolerable amount. After adjusting to the CBD oil, the consumer may need to adjust their dosage lower or higher. One study showed that CBD amounts up to 1,500 milligrams were safe and tolerable.

There is no evidence showing that it is necessary to take a break from CBD oil if it is being used to medically treat something for you. In fact, studies show that taking breaks from CBD oil while it is actively helping you may hurt you in the long run, as it may be hard to get these issues back on track when taking CBD oil resumes.
